Pañchakarma at Home
Pañchakarma can give a person their life back in exchange for 2-4 weeks of dedicated time, attention and energy per year. One application is rarely enough for long-lasting positive effects. Instead, it should be considered an annual practice during middle age (18 to 70 years) to prime the body for regenerative Āyurvedic medicine, as recommended in classical Āyurvedic medical literature.
Eligible candidates must first be screened, and then can be properly prepared for 1 to 12 months prior to perform certain types of Pañchakarma on themselves at home.
Learn more about Āyurvedic medical Pañchakarma in the new publication, The Complete Guide To Virechana. All myĀyu members can access an early, digital copy of the complete book, included in their membership.
To participate in Pañchakarma at home, first learn about the options and determine if you will do Mini Virechana or Complete Virechana.

01.
WHAT IS Pañchakarma (PK)?
Āyurvedic medical Pañchakarma is the removal of deep, stored pollutants from the body (the doṣhas), similar to surgery but without the tools. It requires putting the body, mind and emotions into a controlled state of sickness over a period of 5 to 20+ days, depending on the procedure.
02.
IS Pañchakarma (PK) SAFE?
PK carries risk and must be performed under direct guidance of an Āyurveda Āchārya, or Āyurvedic Doctor, who is trained in India, Nepal or Sri Lanka, for a minimum of 5.5 years full-time. In India, hospital-grade, Āyurvedic medical PK is incredibly powerful and interrupts pathology, reverses and cures disease.
03.
WHO CAN DO Pañchakarma (PK)?
In India, candidates are screened by an Āyurvedic Doctor for eligibility. Most require an initial preparation for the body, digestion, mind and emotions for the intensity of the procedure. Classically, PK is recommended for everyone from 18 to 70 years for annual prevention of acute and chronic disease.
